Staff Appreciation

Staff are shown appreciation all throughout the school year, not just during teacher appreciation week! There are opportunities for breakfast gatherings, raffles, groups such as the Sunshine Committee, incentives for consistent attendance, and week-long celebrations of the hard work being shown each day.

Pajama Day

Throughout the year there are different spirit days related to holidays and/or school events. Students and staff are welcome to dress in theme and show their spirit!

School Trips

Educational Field Trips & Experiences

Our students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of exciting and meaningful field trips throughout the school year. Some trips are offered as incentives to celebrate positive behavior, strong attendance, and student achievement, while others are connected to classroom learning goals and provide hands-on experiences that bring lessons to life.

Students have explored amazing destinations such as the American Museum of Natural History, New York Botanical Garden, Yankee Stadium, Bronx Zoo, Washington, D.C., the Gazillion Bubble Show, and many other exciting locations. These experiences encourage curiosity, deepen learning, and create lasting memories for our students beyond the classroom.

We believe that learning extends far beyond the walls of our school, and field trips provide valuable opportunities for students to discover, explore, and connect with the world around them.

STEM Innovation Day

STEM Innovation Day was an exciting, hands-on experience that inspired creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving in all of our students. Children had the opportunity to explore the world of engineering by designing and creating moving airplanes, helicopters, and cars. Students were fully engaged as they tested their creations, made improvements, and celebrated their successes. The excitement and enthusiasm were contagious — our students could not get enough of this innovative learning experience!

Assemblies

Assemblies are held once a month, in some cases more, as an opportunity to gather together as a school in community. There are focuses such as Juneteenth celebrations, Cinco de Mayo, Student of the Month, and dance performances. Typically assemblies are broken apart by grades 3K through 2 and 3 through 5 at different times throughout the school year.

EOY Carnival

Carnival — We celebrate our students' hard work and achievements with an exciting end-of-year Carnival! This fun-filled event features a variety of bounce houses, delicious treats from the Hip Hop Food Truck, student-created carnival games, popcorn, snow cones, and many other festive activities. It's a special day dedicated to recognizing our students' accomplishments while creating lasting memories with friends and staff.

Family Events

The Parent Coordinator and school leadership team work hard organizing various workshops and events for families at CS 300. There are monthly opportunities to get involved and work alongside your child in a fun craft or meaningful conversation. Reminders are often communicated on the school's app.
