Guidance Services
At The School of Science and Applied Learning, our social workers support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of every student. They work closely with students, families, and staff by providing counseling, guidance, crisis support, and connections to community resources. They also help students successfully transition into our school community and support fifth-grade students and families throughout the middle school application process.

Translation/Interpretation Services
Parents and families who communicate in a language other than English will be provided with interpretation/translation services, upon request. School notices and calendars are sent to families in both English and Spanish. If further interpretation/translation services are needed, please contact our Parent Coordinator.

After School Program: Good Shepherd
Our after-school program is provided in partnership with Good Shepherd Services, offering students a safe, engaging, and supportive environment beyond the school day. The program includes homework assistance, academic enrichment, arts, STEM activities, sports, leadership opportunities, and social-emotional learning designed to help students build confidence, develop new skills, and strengthen positive relationships. Families will receive registration information at the beginning of the school year. Space is limited and enrollment is based on program availability.
Saturday Academy/Level Up (Test Prep)
Students are selected to participate in this program, beginning in January and ending in April, based on the Next Generation Learning Standards Curriculum. All classes in all grades will be based on the Next Generation Learning Standards, which describe what students in each grade need to know and be able to do. The current standardized tests are now aligned to these standards, and teachers' daily lessons and tests will reflect these standards.
