Our uniform dress code is in place to allow for the emphasis at school to be on academic excellence for all students. Dress code is important because:

• It reduces peer pressure on students related to style of dress.
• Fosters a sense of community and team.
• Reduces the cost of clothing for families.
• Increases school safety and security by making outsiders immediately apparent.

Dress Code: Mandatory for Every Student

• Navy blue shirts. Polo shirts may be short sleeve or long-sleeved, but may not have any pictures or emblems, except for the school emblem.
• Navy blue pants or skirts. Pants must have belt loops and must be worn with a belt.
• Skirts may be pleated or non-pleated and may not be shorter than the top of the student's knee.
• Graphics that are deemed suggestively obscene or offensive on any garment are prohibited.
• Wearing of "unsafe or disruptive apparel," such as pants worn too low, is an infraction of the Citywide Behavioral Expectations.
• Beach or shower-type footwear, high heel shoes, and bare feet are not permitted.
• Sneakers/rubber-soled shoes are required for physical education periods. If the student does not wear them, he or she will not participate.
• Children are not permitted to wear hats and/or hoodies in the building.
• Children are not permitted to wear crocs, flip flops, and/or slippers in the building.
• Pupils may not wear gloves of any type during the school day.
• White t-shirts (underwear) may not be worn independently as an outer garment.
• All clothing must be at least knee-length.

Students who wear their uniform consistently for 9 days will earn 10 points on PBIS.

One criteria for participation on celebratory trips is that the children have adhered to the uniform policy daily. Students must wear the school uniform on all field trips.
